This spring, Jane Street is excited to host our virtual career workshop series in partnership with the Student Freedom Initiative, students from select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). Over the course of two weeks, Jane Street will host classes and workshops to help prepare you for future recruiting and interviewing experiences. Learn and put into practice interviewing skills with seasoned recruiters and discover the array of career opportunities within finance and technology at Jane Street and beyond.

This program is open to students at SFI Participating Institutions, inclusive of bachelors, masters, and doctorates. You do not need prior knowledge of finance to attend; only an interest in what a career in finance or technology at Jane Street might look like.

Jane Street is a quantitative trading firm that uses innovative technology, a scientific approach, and a deep understanding of markets to guide our business. We hire smart, humble people who love to solve problems, build systems, and test theories. We hope to connect with you soon!

Jane Street works differently. We are a quantitative trading firm active on more than 200 trading venues across 45 countries. As a liquidity provider and market maker, we help form the backbone of global markets. Our approach is rooted in technology and rigorous quantitative analysis, but our success is driven by our people.

We are always recruiting top candidates and we invest heavily in teaching and training. The environment at Jane Street is open, informal, intellectual, and fun. People grow into long careers at Jane Street because there are always new and interesting problems to solve, systems to build, and theories to test. More than twenty years after our founding, it still feels like we’re just getting started.

The Student Freedom Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to ensuring freedom in professional and life choices for junior and senior students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees. Initially focused on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the Student Freedom Initiative is student-centered, evidence-based, holistic, and collaborative.

SFI enables the social and economic mobility of participants through four transformative components, including an income contingent alternative to fixed payment obligations used to finance college, internships, mentoring, tutoring, and other student services, as well as targeted HBCU capacity building. SFI collaborates with community-based organizations, businesses, and governmental entities through public-private partnerships to make sustainable, systemic changes to support the entire HBCU ecosystem.
